Paddling Into the Sunlight - Mission Bay

Paddling into the sunlight - one of the best things to do if you ask me. Yes, I consider this somewhat romantic. The best part about it? You’re active! I know that a lot of people consider paddle boarding boring, but I think it’s a lot of fun and depending on whether it’s the open water, lake, or bay, you do get a little bit of an arm and core workout in. What a plus.    This photo was taken back in February of this year, when my best friend from the east coast, Aly, visited me. We went “for a walk on the water” after an active day out hiking and got a good dose of fresh air.   San Diego is all about surfing - or water sports in general, I should maybe say. We rented the paddle boards at Mission Bay Sports Center, for $15 an hour, if I recall correctly, and paddled into the sunlight - at Mission Bay. We got some great snapshots that particular evening and had so much fun.   Good times, good memories. And on that note: I will be heading to Colorado in a few hours to spend a weekend hiking (NATURE RETREAT!!!) at Estes Park and Denver and, most importantly, reunite with my Aly. I am SO thrilled. I am keeping my fingers crossed that the flight is not delayed.   Stay tuned and hike along if you like, on theredheadstory , the new instagram page.
